Thank You!
On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank everyone who came out and attended the Mini Conference. We had a great time and some wonderful speakers, and are grateful to all that put in their time and energy to make it a success. Keep an eye out here on SMICYPAA’s website for information soon about upcoming events and activities.
Best directions to the YMCA Trout Lodge for Mini Con 3!
Apparently mapquest and google directions are not helping as much as these directions are. (Thanks for the update Stacy.) So for anyone that is about to head out there still:
The best way to get directions is from their website at http://www.ymcaoftheozarks.org/directions.
Minutes for November 1, 2008 Business Meeting
Hey! From now on, we’ll be putting our business meeting minutes right up here, along with everything else as we transition to this new site. It will make it very easy to pull up all of the minutes and search for a specific meeting’s minutes using the tag-cloud or search features. To see our approved minutes from the November 1st, 2008 meeting, just click on “more.”
Speakers announced for Festivus!
Hey, we have a newly updated flyer for our Festivus for the Rest Of Us Party that will be on December 20th. Go to the events page, or just download the flyer now, and then pass it around to some friends and talk them into coming with you!
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!
Online Registration Now Available!
If you head on over to the Mini Conference page, you can now pay online for your pre-registration. It’s super-simple; just head over and click on the “Buy Now” button, and it will take you to a secure page where you can pay with any major credit card.
Hey, we need some new designs!
We all love the bear design that Aaron did for our committee that’s all over the old version of our website, and up at the top right now. (At least I still love it.) But in talking with Ian, we’ve decided that it doesn’t quite fit right into the new design for this site. Maybe we need some sort of SMICYPAA banner to put up at the top where our logo is right now…maybe with colors that more closely match the theme of this site?
So this is a call for anyone who is interested in helping us design some new graphics for our site to let us know you’re interested, and email us anything you want us to consider using! You can email to webmaster at smicypaa.org, and you can let us know if you’re interested in the comments below. Feel free to ask any questions, or brainstorm ideas there as well.
Superfun-Hangout Time, & Events and Budgets Meeting!
It’s just been announced that we will have another super-fun hangout time for any and all SMICYPAA’ers, along with anyone else who wants to come and spend time with us.
We’ll meet at Meshuggah Cafe at 6:30pm to hang out.
At 8pm we’re going to be meeting at the St. Louis Bread Co. just down the street to hold an ad-hoc events meeting. Meshuggah’s is located at 6269 Delmar Blvd Saint Louis, MO 63130, and the Bread Co. is at 6630 Delmar Blvd St Louis, MO 63130, so they’re literally just down the street from each other.
Here’s a map to Meshuggah’s if you’ve never been there before:

Help us get a head-count, and let us know you’re coming. Do so in the comments, or email our Chair at chair@smicypaa.org.

Welcome to our new web-log, or blog.
Hello SMICYPAA’ers and friends. As your (inexperienced) webmaster I am toying around with new software to create this new section of our website, which will run in a blog format. Sean, the co-chair, and I have been discussing this for a little while now, and although I’m not happy yet with the style and look of it as of yet, my hope is that this may evolve into the main portion of our website someday if everyone likes it. There are several advantages to having something like this on our site, one of which is the interactivity that it introduces to this space. We can now create entries and updates to our website quicker than ever, and other people that go to this site will be able to respond and discuss things to do with the committee just like in any other blog. We’ll see where this goes, but why don’t we give it a shot right now, and start discussing in the comments what you think about this, what you might like to see, not see, get rid of, or whatever.
